According to the 2019 American Community Survey 1-year estimates, Pearland’s current population is 134,448 residents.
From 2010 to 2017, Pearland ranked as the 10th fastest growing city in the U.S., compared to other cities with a population of 50,000 or more in 2010.
From 2000 to 2010, according to U.S. Census population figures, Pearland’s population grew by 142% to 91,252. This ranked Pearland as the 15th fastest growing city in the U.S. from 2000 to 2010 compared to other cities with a population of 10,000 or greater in 2000. Pearland has been the third largest and fastest growing city in the Houston MSA since 2000.

DIVERSITY
Houston is one of the most racially/ethnically diverse metropolitan areas in the nation. Between 2000 and 2010, the City of Pearland’s population became “majority minority” and since that time, our community has become even more diverse. Of more than 300 cities nationally with at least 100,000 people as of 2017, Pearland is one of just 17 where Asian, black, Hispanic and white non-Hispanic residents make up at least 10 percent of the total population. In some respects, Pearland resembles today what the nation might look like in 30 years.
MEDIAN AGE
According to the 2019 American Community Survey estimates, Pearland has a median age of 36.1 – significantly younger than the United States (38.5) as a whole.
EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT
Pearland has educational attainment levels well above the national average. 46.6% of Pearland’s adult population holds a four year degree or higher. Compare that to the national average of 33.1%.
Pearland residents are also more likely to have finished high school and gone on to post-secondary education. 75.4% of Pearland residents have some college, compared to the national average of 61.7%.
And 95.2% of Pearland residents have obtained at least a high school diploma or GED.

According to the 2019 U.S. Census estimates, Pearland’s median income is $106,757 – making it one of the highest income communities in the Houston region and over 62% higher than the national average.
