PEDC Announces Election of Officers

PEARLAND, Texas — Leadership from the Pearland Economic Development Corporation is pleased to announce the election of officers to its Board of Directors.  At its January 31st board meeting, the Board elected Brandon Dansby, Chair; Hugh Patton, Vice Chair; and Mona Chavarria, Secretary. The elected officers will assume their duties at the February 28th board meeting.

Brandon Dansby joined the PEDC board in 2011. He previously served as chair of the Pearland Chamber of Commerce and as a board member for the Development Authority of Pearland. He is also a member of the Pearland Lions Club, board member for both the Lighthouse of Houston and Pearland YMCA and currently serves as senior vice president for Pearland State Bank.

Hugh Patton, DDS, joined the PEDC board in 2014. A member of the Pearland Lions Club, he previously served as its president.  He also serves as a board member for the 100 Club of Pearland and Texas First Bank Business Development Board and as a RISE mentor for Pearland ISD. Patton is the owner of Silver Creek Dental.

Mona Chavarria joined the PEDC board in 2014. A member of the board of directors for the Adult Reading Center, she also served as its president, vice president and treasurer. Other board service includes treasurer of both the Pearland ISD Education Foundation and the Pearland Rotary Club, member of the Silverlake Lions Club and the City of Houston Mayor’s Literacy Task Force.  She also served as past chair and treasurer/secretary of the Pearland Chamber of Commerce. She is the president/owner of A&A Cleaning Services in Pearland.

Established in 1995 by the voters of the City of the Pearland, PEDC is the lead economic development group for this thriving, business-friendly community. PEDC focuses on:

• Business attraction, retention and marketing
• Transportation, mobility and infrastructure
• Lower Kirby Urban Center
• Corridors and beautification

PEDC is a non-profit Type B Corporation under the Texas Development Corporation Act and is primarily funded by a half-cent sales tax in the City of Pearland. The seven-member Board of Directors is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Pearland City Council for two-year terms.
