Overview

Pearland has a well-rounded workforce with a significant percentage of the workers employed in professional or executive positions or as administrative support for professionals or executives. The industries employing the greatest number of Pearland’s residents are manufacturing of durable goods, retail trade and education; each industry provides employment for 1,000 or more of Pearland’s residents.

Training

Pearland offers lower labor costs without a drop in the quality of the labor and without sacrificing technically trained and skilled workers. Furthermore, educational opportunities and job training programs abound in Pearland and surrounding areas. The Pearland Independent School District has a vocational training program. The Pearland College Center, Alvin Community College, San Jacinto College and University of Houston provide excellent job training assistance and have been known to help employers to find qualified workers.
