Relocation Services

Pearland is serious about the recruitment of new businesses to our community. Our economic development team can work with you to ensure you take full advantage of our valuable incentive programs or find the perfect site or building in our community.

Services for Existing Business

In recognizing the importance and significant impact that local businesses make in a community, the PEDC has developed a business retention and expansion program called BizConnect that focuses on the needs and interests of existing businesses in the area. PEDC established the BizConnect program in 2003, in conjunction with the Pearland Chamber of Commerce, to address issues that businesses face and place emphasis on creating a stable business environment. Our retention program brings expertise to our local employers in areas such as:
• Expansion assistance
• Financing
• Workforce development
• Tax incentives
• Sites and buildings
• State and local resources

The Business Retention and Expansion team, which consists of representatives from the PEDC, the Pearland Chamber of Commerce, Alvin Community College-Pearland Center, Northern Brazoria County Education Alliance and the Greater Houston Partnership works to establish a relationship with businesses by visiting businesses and sharing available resources, while also addressing any issues or needs our business community might have.

Workforce and Training

Companies need great talent to compete and survive in a global economy. PEDC supports Pearland employers by supplying the resources necessary to help employees grow and retain the key knowledge you need in your business. Whatever the training need is, PEDC can bring a suitable business training partner to the situation and help create solutions. For example, training assistance is available in such areas as:
• Computer skills
• Manufacturing
• Team and management development
• Safety and quality

International Business Services

Pearland is ideally located in an international community that provides businesses in our city with unmatched resources and access to compete in the global economy. In our region there are over 90 consulate offices, 23 foreign banks and more than 640 foreign owned firms. From expanding exports abroad to establishing relationships with foreign governments, PEDC can help your company expand your global reach.

Development Services

PEDC acts as a facilitator for businesses and developers looking to invest in Pearland. The business receives an assigned project manager from PEDC who handles all questions, meeting coordination and communication as their project moves through the development process. The PEDC project manager will work directly with the business’ development team, including architects, engineers and planners, to minimize project delays and maximize the business’ visibility on the project’s deadlines and expected milestones.

Old Townsite Redevelopment

Keeping Pearland’s historic district vibrant is a priority for the City of Pearland and PEDC. We work with businesses and residents to ensure that we preserve our past and encourage new investment for the future. Working closely with multiple partners, including Texas Department of Transportation, City of Pearland, Pearland Historical Society, Pearland Old Townsite Business Coalition and many others, projects are underway now that will continue to be valuable investment opportunities for generations to come.

PEDC has created incentives that assist in investment decisions in redevelopment areas. These incentives, along with City of Pearland and State of Texas infrastructure projects, create opportunity for businesses to reinvest in our community.
